Fall Layers

I take a great deal of joy in the art of layering. I layer purely for layering itself. Sometimes I even layer too much and get annoyed that the layers didn't fall just right. But that may be a story for another time. Today's post highlights some simple layering techniques that can make late Fall and Winter more tolerable if you're a cold weather wimp like me.

Wide Leg Pants

I wanted to share my latest fashion addiction with you - wide leg pants! As you know, I don't wear pants and jeans all that often. The skinny variety aren't that flattering on me and even boyfriend styles can be tricky for me. Luckily, wide leg pants are a completely different story. They're SO flattering. Plus this is a fashion trend that is actually super wearable for everyday, and for ALL body types. In today's post I'm sharing 4 reasons to buy a pair of wide leg pants asap if you don't already own some. Staycation Fall Fashion

OUTFIT DETAILS: SKIRT | TURTLENECK | HAT | SANDALS (now under $20) or similar HERE | BAG: ZARA or similar HERE

Happy Monday! My weekend was wonderful because we had a little staycation, courtesy of the Element Hotel in Boston's Seaport. It was perfect timing since I really needed a couple of days to relax. The hotel is modern, eco-conscious and great for families. If you follow me on Twitter you probably got a peek at the room and saw how sleek and functional it is. My daughter spent the majority of our time there in the heated indoor pool while I zoned out with a magazine, and by magazine I mean Instagram. Outfit details and more on our stay are below!

 Statement Sleeve Sweater for Fall

SKIRT: ZARA, similar HERE, also love THIS one for petites | SWEATER | BERET | MULES

A couple of mysterious white specks somehow landed on this ruffle-sleeve sweater when I wore it. Note to self, always carry a mini lint roller. Specks aside though, I love this sweater because, SLEEVES. The sleeves are so good. This sweater has just the best weight to it - so soft and warm and just, cozy. And it's under $35 so it's super budget friendly. It comes in white as well and will be a frequently used item in my closet for the Fall.
