Yesterday was a perfect day for the farmer's market. The sun was out, the birds were chirping, I was with my family and all was right with the world! We went to a market that was a mix of produce, flowers and some street art, which was a nice surprise. We actually got there a little early, right as they were setting up, so it worked out perfectly for snapping a few pics for the blog. I love light breathable fabrics in the summer and a floaty skirt paired with cork and straw accessories is a fail-safe recipe for summer style. This weekend I debuted my new silk paisley skirt from Anthropologie, a store I haven't shopped at in a long time. The colors of this skirt are such a fun medley - peacock colors.

I wear so many bright colors in the summer and am always on the hunt for nude sandals that won't clash with my brights and patterns. These cork wedges were a popular pair in the Nordstrom sale (fyi, the last day of the sale is today) and from what I can see they were popular among other bloggers as well. They didn't disappoint when they arrived in the mail. I always try new shoes on for at least 15 mins inside the house before I decide to keep them. Some shoes take a little warming up and breaking in but not these and for $40 they're an amazing summer deal. In my experience they run ever so slightly small - I took a size 6 in these although my usual size is 5.5. The straps keep your foot perfectly in place and prevent them for sliding forward too much as they do with some heels. They're the perfect innocuous partner for summer's statement dresses and skirts. They're super light-weight because of the cork construction and the wedge heel makes them so easy to walk in despite the height. Currently all sizes are available in this color (also comes in three other print/color options).

The skirt has an asymmetrical ruffled hem and is lined down to the knees - beautiful details that I'm not surprised by from a brand like Anthropologie. The waist-band is elasticized so the skirt will conform to your exact waist size. And bonus, it doesn't require dry-cleaning. The label says "hand-wash" which is obviously the preferred method,or you if you're lazy like me, you could just do the delicate cycle in the machine or if you have a machine with a "tub wash" setting, I like to use that and lay the item out to dry afterwards.  Sizing-wise, it does come in regular and petites but I bought this in the store in regular sizing, not Petites, and it fits me perfectly everywhere.

The vivid blues and greens are so gorgeous and put me in a vacation mood right away. I can picture wearing this for a walk along the beach with a high-necked crop top and bare feet, sandals in hand. There are so many tops you could pair with this skirt (particularly since it has all three primary colors in it) but for my morning at the farmer's market with brunch plans after, I went with a simple cotton pale blue pin-striped button-down. I love my work to weekend pieces and this Banana Republic top totally falls in that category. I have several of Banana's shirts and love them all for their slim fit and soft materials. I've had, worn and washed this one umpteen times for several years and it still looks as good as new, so I would definitely call it a wardrobe essential.

I like the unexpected pairing of a pastel "work shirt" with this floaty vibrant skirt. This style tip works so well with any flirty maxi, whether it's a skirt or dress. Grab a neutral colored button-down and knot it at the waist to give the outfit some waist definition and add a dose of urban chic to your ultra-feminine pieces. This works particularly well over a slip dress if you want to add texture or switch up the look of the dress. I styled my floral boho dress as a skirt here and you could easily replace the popover with a button-down for a different look.

This straw bag has gone so many places with me since I grabbed it. It's only $50 and is one of my favorite run-around-town bags for the summer. I feel like you're ready for anything with this bag and the best part is that it's so understated. It's perfect for everything from the farmer's market to shopping to, of course, the beach.

Also this week I linked up with fellow blogger Lizzie in Lace to share this boho look. Check out her blog for more boho and ultra-feminine looks.
