gingham button-down, checked button-down, dark rinse jeans, high-rise jeans, white ankle booties, camel sweater, camel coat, camel belt, tote, oversize watch
Happy Friday! I wanted to share a denim look for the weekend that's not the distressed/ripped variety (even though I do love my ripped jeans). In other posts I've talked about what a challenge it is to find a well fitting pair of jeans with a small waist and fuller hips so needless to say it's always a big win when you find one that works for your shape. If you're in the market for a pair of dark rinse mid or high-rise jeans, the ones I'm wearing, this designer pair or these COH ones are two of my favorites. The COH pair are on sale on the last day of the sale (with code BIGEVENT16). Another option at an unbelievable $12.90 is this black pair! I hope these picks save you some time in the fitting room.

One of the things I love about this pair is the fact there's no gapping. This is a fairly common problem for women when buying jeans so it's always great when you can find a pair that you don't have to take to the tailors because it fits your hips and legs but is too big at the waist. I really detest having to get something altered because I have very little time and even less patience. When I buy something I want to be able to wear it right away so picking the right fit at the get-go is a big help. These also have a good amount of stretch which means they'll conform to your shape and another plus is that they don't stretch out after a wear.

I styled them with my navy blue gingham button-down which I adore and has so much styling versatility. I wore it a lot this winter layered under a sweater and in warmer weather you can wear it knotted at the waist with shorts or with a midi-skirt.

I have my camel felted sweater-coat on again - it goes with almost everything. My cost per wear for this thing has been pretty impressive and the fact that it's a classic color that won't go out of style anytime soon makes it an even better buy. It's such a great transitional piece because the material is actually warm and the length gives you coverage without the weight. It also has a hood which you can see HERE in a different outfit.

It was a long day and my munchkin was in toe so I took my LV Neverful. Everyone's familiar with this tote and it's been popular since forever so I won't say much about it except that it works really well when you need to lug a ton of stuff around. If you're sick of this bag (as some days I am!) check out this awesome camel oversize bag styled HERE. This is an amazing under $100 alternative to a designer tote and both colors (comes in black too) go with everything. I originally bought it for a weekender but I now use it all the time when I need to carry a lot of things and want a cross-body option.

These almond-toe ankle boots are still available online in a lot of sizes and I can't exaggerate how much I love them. Aside from the color being so new and fresh for both winter and spring, the shoe has a ton of room in the toe-box but still looks sleek. It's the perfect chic city boot made for hours of comfortable walking. I love this style so much that I have my eye on these too - are the heels amazing or what.

I hope you liked this simple preppy look. Thanks for reading, have an amazing weekend and see you next week!
