A CHIC SHIRT-DRESS

shirtdress, pinstripe, silky dress, midi, booties, via spiga, cluse watch, prada camera bag, black trench, belted dress

I was on a Target trip the other day to buy boring things like toothpaste when I walked past the WhoWhatWear section and of course got sucked in. I have to admit I'm a little late in checking out this collaboration because it hit stores several weeks ago which is sooo long ago in fashion blogger world. Anyway, I'm glad it's still in stores because...what an amazing dress! Great quality, a chic cut and in the flattering midi-length and best of all, under $40!

spring style, street style, pinstripe shirtdress, office style, dress for work, oversized sunglasses

DRESS: TARGET x WHOWHATWEAR | BOOTIES: VIA SPIGA old but similar HERE and I also love THESE!) | COAT: MARTIN & OSA (that store went under sadly) but I also want this one HERE with the bow! | CROSS-BODY BAG: PRADA or similar HERE or under $150 HERE

The material is super silky and drapey. I love the black and white graphic impact this dress has while still being so light and fresh - perfect as we transition into Spring. It comes with a self-belt and belt loops but I swapped out the belt it came with for a plain black one to style it up a little bit. It's intended to be midi-length and hits lower on petites as you can see but I love the length regardless. When you belt it you can pull out the top a little to play with the length if you want it a little shorter.

The other nice thing is that the sleeves can be rolled up to above the elbows and buttoned in place or you can leave it long and just push up the sleeves as I did here. I have to say I'm so impressed with the sophisticated look of this piece and will be getting so much wear out of it as the weather warms up in Boston. As soon as we crest 60 degrees I'm ditching the tights and booties and throwing on some flatforms (but first I need a pedi) with this dress. I'm thinking about a blush belt and blush open-toed sandals - gotta love matchy matchy sometimes.

Have a great week and thank you so much for reading and supporting the blog! Please post comments anytime.
